                                   Tyn Y Fron

The Tyn y Fron was a very late endeavor by the miners to get to the copper ore that was at the lower levels of the vein. The Ty Gwyn adit was dug to connect with this major shaft.

At present the only way to explore this part of the mine is via an abseil of 270 foot to the adit portal, below this is water, reputed to extend down another 300 foot.

The photographs displayed here have been taken by Glyn Davies during 2002 and our thanks are extended to Glyn for giving GOES permission to use them on this web site.

All photo’s ending with BE have been supplied by Brian Edwards and likewise our thanks are extended to Brian.
